I frequently find myself copy&pasting abstracts from a pdf into the “abstract” field of the paper.
This works great with chrome’s default viewer (newlines seem to be converted to spaces)
With the paperpile “viewer with annotations”, however, this results in lots of “this line endingnext line beginning”, i.e. the words before and after the newline are merged.

I run into the same issue with MetaPDF. I have to switch from my annotated metapdf document to chrome’s default viewer in order to copy and paste to my document.
