I have a PDF that I highlighted in EndNote’s iPad app (I know, I know). These annotations are visible in Preview, Skim, and other PDF apps. But in MetaPDF those annotations are not visible - or rather, the highlights are recognized but there is no text and the error message “Highlight text is not available” appears in the sidebar. Comments are visible though.
So I tried another PDF, annotated the same way, and it worked just fine. It appears that the difference is that in PDF 1 my highlights were originally made in a different color and with a different opacity level than the default yellow (which was the case for PDF 2). So I guess MetaPDF is thrown off by the red?
