In text citations APA6 style '&' for 'and'

I’ve been told by lecturers that APA6 style is to use ‘&’ for ‘and’ when joining two authors, eg Smith & Wesson, 1898. I’ve selected APA style but all in-text citations are coming in as Smith and Wesson, 1898.

The initial placeholders always use “and”. They are not the final format. Have you run “Format citations”?

Thanks, Stefan! Yes, once I did format citations it put in all the &s.
