Is there a way to insert a citation into a text box? I have a figure that includes text boxes referencing different studies. I need to link those to the bibliography.

What type of text boxes do you mean? Those you find in a drawing program like Illustrator?
You can easily get a formatted citation using “Cite > Citation” or Simply ⌘C or Ctrl-C on a PC.
