Lately I’ve been experiencing slow down of MetaPDF to the degree that I can hardly use it. There are severe delays to simply scroll the document. Anyone else had this experience? Anything I can do to provide feedback to the developers to improve this?

Yes. I have had the same problem and have been posting about it here.
They say they should be releasing something “soon” that fixes it.
As for information for the developers you’ll have to ask @andreas.

It’s not been as bad as completely hanging Chrome tab, but after having to wait seconds before the document starts scrolling (for a document of text only, and consisting only of 15 pages!), especially in front of the colleagues going over the document content, I (again!) have serious reservations about MetaPDF.
