Zoom problems when deleting annotations and search/highlight problems

Within the last few days, I started having a problem where if I delete an annotation, the page zooms into the single column as shown below. It still highlights as if it were normal, and if I zoom in or out, then it snaps back to normal. I thought that it happened when highlighting as well, but I can’t seem to replicate that at the moment.

I’ve seen it on a couple papers, but most recently, the one available from here: http://aem.asm.org/content/71/5/2501

Edit: This appears to be happening with all of my papers, including ones that I have successfully annotated without problems before.

In addition, I’m having problems with highlighting and searching. Depending on my zoom level, the search highlighting can be very off, like this search for ‘mucus’ at two consecutive zoom levels:

And here is that sentence selected and then highlighted:

If I clear the search and highlight at the same zoom level, I get this:

Thanks in advance! Let me know if there are any other details that will help you debug.

(Edit 2: The above screenshots were from this pdf: http://erj.ersjournals.com/content/21/1/37)

Edit 3: The zoom problem also occurs when undoing a highlight.

Bump. This bug is giving me a lot of problems.

Hi,

We can’t reproduce the bug on our end here. Maybe we can get more insights if you could tell us the operating system and chrome browser version you are using Paperpile with.

Best,
Andreas

I have the chromebook pixel 2, updated to the latest stable version:

Version 49.0.2623.95 (64-bit)
Platform 7834.60.0 (Official Build) stable-channel samus
Firmware Google_Samus.6300.174.0

Could you please try to open the Javascript console in Chrome like here: https://developer.chrome.com/devtools/docs/console

CNTRL + SHIFT + J does the job on my machine. And then please type in the console: window.devicePixelRatio

Mine is 1, what’s displayed for your machine?

Mine is 2.

This bug is giving me a huge problem when zooming a web page. I’m using the latest chrome version.

@zlreitz @jeasan

We have pushed an update today. Please let us know if the issue still persists.

It appears to have been fixed! Thanks Paperpile team!

A similar issue is coming up on my Acer R11 chromebook as well. I tried this solution and nothing happened.

Specifically the issue is that when I highlight something the page jumps or freezes. Sometimes I loose the ability to edit when I go to the next page - I have to reload which is annoying because I then have to scroll to the location again.

Not having any other performance problems on the chromebook.

Thanks in advance for any assistance on this matter.

Hey I’m still having this problem, now more frequently. Any thoughts?
