In the case that I want to backup my journal article .pdfs on a hard disk, is there an ability for paperpile to export the folder hierarchies that I have set up?

If you export to csv,(and probably other formats) a folder hierarchy is included, though it’s kind of a mess and hard to interpret. Still, I think it would enable you to recover the hierarchy if necessary.
