Thank you very much for your work on Paperpile! It has been great so far.
For the browser extension, it is still difficult for me to manage papers. In particular, I would like to be able to distinguish between read/unread papers, to “archive” papers to make them disappear, and to add notes to papers - and maybe even forward them to colleagues, and have searchable discussion threads about them.
Basically, what I realized is that I want the Gmail interface. I’m not sure if it’s possible, but if there were a way to integrate Paperpile with Gmail, I think it would be AWESOME. We could mark read/unread papers, “archive” the papers, and have discussion threads perfectly integrated with the papers themselves. You could also tag papers using the Gmail tags feature.
Anyway, just a thought. If it is difficult to integrate it with Gmail, it would still be awesome to have some of these features (particularly, read/unread and archive). There has been some talk about how to implement a “read/unread” system, and I think Gmail does it perfectly. Thanks!
