Where are PDF annotations save?

Hello,

I didn’t discover Paperpile until I read a nice blog post! Paperpile seems much more user-friendly than Mendeley and Zotero. In terms of the PDF annotation beta trial, I’m curious if the highlights are saved on my Chrome browser history or my Google Drive? If former, would I lose annotations if I use a different computer?

The annotations are saved in two places; immediately on Paperpile’s servers and then shortly thereafter they are written directly to the PDF file which is stored on your Google Drive.

The first location allows for the annotations to show up immediately on other devices (like your tablet), whereas the second ensures that the annotations will always be in your files.

Thanks!! As a customer, I really appreciate this save on Google drive strategy!
