1000 paper label limit, "Triggering sync..." then fail

Hi team,

Two more bugs uncovered:

  1. What appears to be an arbitrary 1000 paper limit for labels (sometimes I might have 2000+ papers to be grouped under a label but only 1000 are captured when I select them all as a group and add that label)

  2. Using the Paperpile debug logs tool I am experiencing a hang when I click Sync Now which, after displaying “Triggering Sync…” , can be given 10+ hours to synchronise and yet nothing happens/the process fails.

Hi Andrew,
We are quite intensively looking into your issues. It seems your quite unique library with lots of labels that also all have lots of references causes some performance issues. That in turn seems to break your database somehow.

We could reproduce the performance issues (which we are looking into as we speak). But we could not really break the database.

All the issues you see are basically downstream issues of that problem. Of course we don’t limit counts to 1000, but internally we do operations in chunks and that seem to have crashed after one chunk of 1000.

In case you are on Edge or another browser you could try in Chrome.
