Abbreviated institutional authors in-text

How can an abbreviated institutional author be used for in-text citations?

As an example, a reference from the U.S. Congress, Office of Technology Assessment dated 1989 should be cited as:

(OTA 1989).

In the style we use, the author line in the bibliography should read:

U.S. Congress, Office of Technology Assessment (OTA)

I can’t seem to find a good solution for this.

Thanks!

I suppose it will work to just change the author to the abbreviation. Then when done remove the citation codes, and manually write in the non abbreviated name in the bibliography in some way. A more elegant/automatic solution would be nice, however.

Thanks for the question. Which style are you using? Rather than editing the metadata, I would suggest you edit the in-text citation by clicking the citation > pencil icon > blue bubble…

… which will enable you to suppress the author and include the abbreviation (OTA) as a prefix. Does that work?
