"Add PDF" breaking until browser restart

Hi,

This has happened a couple of times now, so I thought I’d bring it to your attention. I go to a webpage with an article (e.g. PubMed) and click on the Paperpile extension button. I click Save to Paperpile, which works, but the View PDF button doesn’t appear as it should (I have “Automatically save PDFs with references” enabled):

If I click View in Paperpile and then try to add the PDF by clicking the Add PDF button for that article on the Paperpile webpage, nothing happens.

I’m not sure why this is happening but I’ve realized that quitting and restarting my browser solves the issue.

Microsoft Edge 126.0.2592.68
macOS 14.5, Build Version 23F79

Cheers

Thanks for your report, @paperpiledriver; I have shared it with the team and they will look into it. Let us know the extension version, and if you can recall any actions you took before these issues occurred, that may help the team to reproduce.

Disabling the extension should also help. Close the web app in Edge, then go to the Edge menu > Extensions > Manage Extensions and toggle the switch for the Paperpile extension off, then on again.

Paperpile supports keyboard shortcuts (at least in Chrome - don’t know about other browsers). If you use Chrome, go to chrome://extensions/shortcuts and add a keyboard shortcut (I use Alt p with the p for Paperpile) and then any paper is added immediately and you are a faster Paperpile driver …
