Annotation Toolbar and Function Switching in the iPad App

I am a regular user of the Paperpile app on iPad with an Apple Pencil and have a few suggestions to improve the user experience:

  1. Fixed Toolbar at the Top:
When annotating, having the toolbar for selecting comment and pen functions fixed at the top of the page would be very helpful. This feature, similar to the interface in Goodnotes, would enhance usability. I often write handwritten notes with the Apple Pencil in the margins on either side of the paper. Moving the toolbar out of the way can be inconvenient, so fixing it at the top would make this process smoother.

  2. Independent Annotation Switching:
Switching between underline, text highlight, and strikethrough requires turning off the current annotation function and then performing a long press, which can be cumbersome. It would be more efficient if these functions could be selected independently, without long presses, improving overall ease of use.

Thank you for considering these suggestions. I believe these improvements will make the Paperpile app even more user-friendly.

Welcome to the Paperpile community @Hiroto! These are all good ideas, and I’ve recorded your feedback for consideration by the mobile team at a later date.
