In MS word, the in text citation is incorrectly adding the first initial
@jdev An author’s initial and/or first names being added is often due to disambiguation. According to the APA citation style, whenever two or more authors have the same last name they must be distinguished from each other by adding initials and/or first/middle names to avoid confusion within the text.
Perhaps in this case, you might have already cited another publication in your Word document written by the author J. Allspaw, but the other publication has the full name. The solution in that case would be to edit the metadata of each reference in Paperpile so that the name of the Allspaw author matches exactly.
