Auto-update often fails to add DOIs, even when the DOI can be found at one or more of the links in the “URLs” field. Does the auto-update function look through all of the URLs, or just the first one? Either way, it would be great if this worked better.
The auto-update currently uses the links in order of appearance and stops when it has found a “good” source. We should be able to improve this if the links are obvious enough, what did the links look like in your case?
There were a lot of links (like five or six), but the first couple didn’t have DOIs. Maybe just go through all the links until the DOI is found? It’s pretty important - I’ve been required to include them for multiple journals.
