I occasionally want to jump down to a reference in a paper, which works if there are internal links, but then getting back to where I was reading means scrolling all the way back up. This is particularly annoying when I’m reading a long review article (as I have frequently in the past week). What I’ve ended up doing is making sure there’s a highlight nearby that I can click to jump back.
I’m not sure if this would be possible to do with a pdf, but it would be nice if there was some sort of Back
button (or better - keyboard shortcut!) to go to the previous view. I don’t know how the grammar works, but it seems like if you can have links in pdfs down to the references, one should be able to make a link to a particular view.
