Best way to add all references from a paper?

Hi all,
I’m new to Paperpile and so far absolutely love it. I’ve tried many reference managers before but Paperpiles cross-platform integration is incredible!

I’ve searched the forum but haven’t found any details on this: For a given paper/PDF what is the best way to import all references from it that it cites?

Hi @cgvancity, welcome to the forum! :wave:

Here’s one possible way:
Microsoft Academic shows for each publication a list of references with bibliographic information.

So you could:

  1. select all the citations from your paper of interest
  2. export them using a format compatible with Paperpile (e.g. RIS or BibTeX)
  3. import into Paperpile
