BibTex Export Fields to Match Template

I am using Paperpile with Overleaf and exporting the .bib file to Overleaf using the live export. The BibTeX format the publisher uses requires the year and journal fields instead of date and journaltitle. Is there any way to modify the BibTeX Paperpile exports to:

Replace date with year and extract the year from the date field.

Replace journaltitle with journal to specify the journal name.

Figured it out - I was using the newer version (BibLaTex). Switching back to BibTex solved both my problems. It is working very well now. Thanks for putting the time in to set up this integration.

I have chosen what I feel are appropriate types for some manual entries in paperpile, however the upon export I’m not happy with the type that paperpile chose to export as. I can’t seem to find a place to override this, and I have no idea how each citation type will export in terms of both types and fields. Is there a master document somewhere we can look at to understand how the bibtex/biblatex exports work?
