I know I can sort my collection by “Date Added” but is there a way I can see the date for each reference. I want to know what date I knew about a paper.

We do not surface this information, but you can manually edit the “Date accessed” field after import if you want it in a more accessible format.
In a pinch, you can also Press Ctrl + J with the paper selected, grab the number from the created field and use a unix time stamp converter (like this one) to get a human-readable date.

Apparently, this now is accessible, because I can find the created date (perfectly readable, no unix conversion needed) by clicking on the three dots […] to “show details”. Toward the very bottom is the created date. I check a few papers and it’s there. Very helpful!
