changing numbering (i.e starting new document at citation number 82)

I am finalizing submission of a manuscript which will need to be uploaded as several documents but with continuous citation numbering (why is beyond me).

Curious if there is a way of forcing Paperpile to do this. making one giant document then unformatting and exporting, is there a way to do this?

Example:

Main Text
References
1.

82

Supplementary Material
83.

101

Thanks,

Scott

Welcome to our forum, @Scott_McCall! There is no automated way to achieve this, but I would suggest (as maybe you’ve already done) keeping the full/master doc intact and once done citing, using paste without formatting (Ctrl+Shift+V) when copy/pasting sections to other docs. Simple, but should be effective for your purposes. Let me know your thoughts.

In any case, the request to support multiple bibliographies / customize citation numbering is on our radar, so I’ve added your +1 to the topic on our tracker.
