Citations in text as well as in footnotes

Continuing the discussion from Footnote citations:

Is it possible to have author date citations in-text but full citations in footnotes? If so, please could you advise which style might accommodate this?

There is, to the best of my knowledge, no style which does this. Citations are only inserted in one place - either in the text of in a footnote - for the later, you have to add the footnote manually.

The best way I can think of to get the result you describe is to manually type-out the in-text citations, then manually add a footnote after each one, then with the cursor in the footnote add a Paperpile citation. Note that you would have to use a “Full Note” style for this.

That’s what I thought; thanks for confirming. I’ll put the footnotes in manually. I’m not sure if this is a feature in other referencing software but I think this is quite common usage.
