Hi,

I have a document, which I am more than happy to share with you, for which I get the following warning both in Chromium 57.0.2987.98 on Ubuntu 16.04 (64-bit) and Firefox 52.0.2 (64-bit):

Could not save annotations this type of PDF file. This should not have happened. Please contact support@metapdf.com

The “annotations this type of PDF file” bit, which should probably read “annotations for this type of PDF file”, is not my mistake, I copy it verbatim.

Did this error go away on its own? I have a PDF I’ve annotated for the last 2 weeks (20 pages). On page 19, it started throwing this error = (

One of the reasons the viewer is in beta is that there are many different ways in which sources write PDF files. The files can often differ from the PDF standard, leading to bugs like this.

Please contact us in the support chat or via support@paperpile.com and attach the PDF. This will help build a fix for this problem. We may also be able to restore the functionality in that PDF.
