DOI with special characters not formatting properly (Bug?)

Hello,

I am trying to cite this paper: https://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1002/(SICI)1099-0909(200001/03)6:1<57::AID-DYS163>3.0.CO;2-W

The doi for the paper is:

10.1002/(SICI)1099-0909(200001/03)6:1<57::AID-DYS163>3.0.CO;2-W

I am guessing that it is because of the < and > characters in the doi, but Paperpile does not want to cite the reference correctly. When I try I get this:

Fawcett, A. J., & Lynch, L. (2000). Systematic identification and intervention for reading difficulty: case studies of children with EAL. Dyslexia , 6(1), 57–71. 3.0.CO;2-W">https://doi.org/10.1002/(SICI)1099-0909(200001/03)6:1<57::AID-DYS163>3.0.CO;2-W

The end characters of the doi (3.0.CO;2-W">) are added in front of the doi in the citation. They shouldn’t be there, but it is not possible to remove them.

Is there any way to get Paperpile to ignore the < and > characters in the doi? Not sure if there is a character that I could be used to do this, similar to using a backslash as an escape sequence in Python (I tried a backslash, no luck)?
