Formatted citation irregularities

Hello,

I am using the paperpile Word plugin and I am having this issue where some formatted citations include the first authors initials.

See here:

When unformatted it is correct:

Is there a reason why paperpile is doing this?

Cheers.

Welcome to our forum, @jakw! Apologies for the delay, did this continue happening? Are there any other entries by those authors cited in your document?

Initials being “randomly” added in-text indicate the system is trying to to differentiate between authors with the same surname, as detailed in this APA guideline. If these are in fact the same author, the solution is to edit the metadata so that their names match exactly. Let us know otherwise.
