Get a clean link

When I click on “Get link” in Paperpile, I get a link that looks like:

https://paperpile.com/app/p/abra-cadabra-0123-bcbc-

Long and ugly. If I then paste it into Chrome in incognito mode (i.e., logged out of Paperpile), I get a much nicer and cleaner link that looks like:

https://paperpile.com/shared/aB12cDEf

Much shorter and cleaner; much nicer to email to colleagues. Is it possible to get the second link directly?

Yes: use the share button (or press Shift + S). The “Get link” options is supposed to link directly to the reference in your library and is useful if you want to create such links in notes or in other applications.

We redirect to a share page when the link is used by someone who is not the owner of the reference.

Ah, great. I didn’t understand the distinction between “Share” and “Get link”. Thanks for the explanation.
