Hello, I have written a document using Paperpile and sent it to others for review. When I go through and accept or reject other people’s changes, there are a few citations that change to a huge hypperlink that spans over three pages. If I quit the document and re-open the problem solves, but returns again as soon as I keep going through the stages of accepting or rejecting changes made by others.
Welcome to our forum, @Alan, and thank you for letting us know. These are field codes that are appearing in your document. You may have the advanced setting “Show field codes instead of their values” checked in your Word document.
To check this, go to the Word menu and click Preferences > View and uncheck the option Field codes instead of values (macOS)
In Windows, go to File > Options, click the Advanced tab, and under Show document content, uncheck Show field codes instead of their values.
You can also switch them back to citations by right-clicking on them in your document and selecting Toggle Field Codes (Windows/macOS)
