I find it surprising that an invalid ISBN means you can’t save the citation. The flag that it ISBN is invalid is very helpful! Curious where I should stash the invalid ISBN for reference later (as it was listed by the original reference). Something like a notes, or for invalid versions to not prohibit saving a book reference.
If you add an ISBN to the ISBN field when creating a new reference or editing an existing reference, our backend can check if is valid, so that is why we don’t allow the creation of a reference with an invalid ISBN, @anna. If you wish, you can add it as a note by clicking the notes button (speech bubble) under the reference in your library.
I have a valid isbn (checked on it with a validator) and it won’t validate in paperpile. What dan I do about this because I really would like to add the isbn.
Thanks for letting us know, @Flounder. Can you send an email to support@paperpile.com with the ISBN and other details about the book, so that our engineering team can investigate?
