Limited choices for Citation style when searching

I am working on a manuscript in Google Docs, using the Paperpile extension. I am trying to use the citation style for the journal “Genetics”. However, when I go into the toolbar and select Paperpile>Citation Style… and search “Genetics” in the search bar, the journal Genetics doesn’t appear.

It seems to me like the search results are presented in alphabetical order, and that the search results max out at some point. Unfortunately, they max out before the Gs… And I cannot use a more detailed search string, seeing as the name of the journal is so short.

This issue persits even after removing and readding the Paperpile extension. I am using paperpile extension version 1.5.774. I know I was able to add the Genetics citation style at some point before, as I found another Google Docs of mine that has this citation style.

Any help would be appreciated!

Welcome to our forum, @David_Jordan! Thanks for the report. This is indeed a new bug on our end — seems the selection dialog in GDocs is now only displaying the first 20 results, which didn’t used to be the case. The team is now aware and the matter is on their queue of issues to address soon.

In the meantime, a workaround would be using our optional sidebar add-on instead to select the style. Once installed, open it in your doc via the top menu option Extensions > Paperpile > Manage Citations. Another alternative would be setting the style from your library (Settings > Citation Styles), which will apply to all new docs — you can copy/paste contents from a previous doc and citations will be preserved.

Thanks for the help @vicente . The sidebar add-on method allowed me to select the proper Genetics citation style and format my document!
