It would be nice to be able to add references for a patent and clinical trial by their number and for a web link as well.
Also maybe it would be nice to paste just a link to the paper on the journal site, so Paperpile would figure out the reference from that.
Also, it would be nice (when entering manuscripts manually) to have an option to add “submitted” and “accepted for publication” , maybe as a check box. Right now, I just add this to the year: “2016, submitted”
You can import patents from Google patents. What sources would you like for clinical trials and patents? Chances are we already support them. Just go to the website and click the “P” in the Chrome toolbar.

I’d second the comments of Max and Chaney to have Clinical Trial as a Type in Paperpile. Searching clinical trial registries is quite an important part of systematic reviews so would be quite beneficial to have them
Pushing the envelope but the two big ones in this area are given below. So if you are twiddling your thumbs looking for something to do 
, it would be quite nice to have them supported for direct Paperpile imports
