hi, Paperpile suggests merging some items, but sometimes fails to find items that should be merged. It would be great if after selecting two or more items the “merge” button would get enabled.

Thanks for the request, @giovanni_florio - adding your + to the existing topic on our tracker. In the meantime, a workaround - you can force two items to be detected as duplicates by adding a common identifier (e.g. URL or DOI). They will then appear in the list of duplicates for you to merge.
+1 on needing a menu option for this. I work with a lot of independent organization and government reports and policy documents which do not have DOIs and have URLs that break or change over time.
