I used to use the annotation feature, but I wanted to see them from the main paperpile interface. I switched to using notes to highlight a few key findings relevant to me on papers. However, when I download and view the PDF inside paperpile I can’t see the notes anymore.
Can you please add a feature so that notes are visible when reading a paper?
Welcome to our community @Todd_Stang and thanks for sharing this. That makes sense; having your notes visible while reading would make it easier to connect your key insights to the paper itself.
At the moment, notes and PDF annotations are stored separately, so notes in speech bubbles under references don’t appear inside the PDF viewer. But you’re not alone in wanting this — it’s a feature we’ve heard requested before, and it’s something our team will implement in the future as we evolve the notes and annotation experience.
I’ve added your +1 to our internal feature tracker so your feedback is included in future planning.
