Notebook feature like in Mendeley

It would be great if there was a notebook feature like in Mendeley where you can copy segments from any paper and aggregate them in one place. Right now you can only export annotations from one specific paper at the time but some times it really helps to be able to organize different parts of different papers in the same place because they may be relevant and right now it has to be done manually.
Let me know if it’s not clear (those who have used mendeley will know what I’m talking about). It is really the only thing missing from paperpile that makes me consider switching because it saves an incredible amount of time when doing lit review and then writing the paper.

Welcome to our community @George_An! Improving Paperpile’s note-taking features, such as having standalone notes (similar to Mendeley’s notebook feature) is a goal for us. I’ve added your feedback and your +1 for standalone notes to our internal feature tracker for the team’s consideration.

Thank you. Are there any updates on this? Frankly, I really enjoyed using paperpile and found its integration in citation management online and in writing to be very seamless but the note-taking is a severe limitation for me.

Thanks for following up. We don’t have any updates to share yet—note-taking is an area we know needs improvement, and it remains on our roadmap for future updates. We’ll share news here as soon as we have something more concrete.

If there’s anything else you’d like to share about your workflow or specific needs, we’re always happy to hear it.
