Overleaf (and potentially other integrations) no longer syncing / connecting

I noticed today, that my overleaf bibliography was not able to grab new references added to my library. This was working correctly for the past few months.

To trouble shoot I removed the integration, with the intention of re-integrating to see if that fixed the issue. However, when creating the workflow, paperpile hangs – see image below.

Closing that box causes a broken link to be created, which in tern causes overleaf to download an empty file.

I saw in a previous discussion that overleaf can limit the size of the bib file, however I have manually uploaded my bib and it works correctly. Seems to be a new issue with paperpile? Advice appreciated thanks.

Same problem here.

Thank you for reporting, @Gus_Ellerm and @fbiox. Our product team was able to restart these processes, so they should be working now. To check, close the Paperpile tab in your browser, then go to the web app in a new tab, and try to set up a workflow again. Let us know if you continue to experience issues.

Hello, I am experiencing the same problem:

Thanks for your help.

Same problem for me. Tried overleaf and bibtex export via file.

Welcome to our forum, @Sandrine_Bedard and @Martin_Wild, and thank you for your reports. A member of our product team has fixed the issue and workflows should be working again; please let me know if you continue to experience difficulties.

Hi Suzanne. I’ve now got the same problem.

Would appreciate any help you can provide!

Welcome to our forum, @Sam_Willis! Backend logs show your workflow set-up was unusually slow, but it should be up and running now—is this the case? If not, please drop us a line via chat or email (support@paperpile.com) so we can troubleshoot further.

Dears,

I accidentally created a new overleaf connection, and when I tried to delete it, it turns out that I deleted the old connection and kept the new one. now the bib keys are all changed and my project is no longer recognising the citations in overleaf !!
Please help me
Thank you

Thank you for reporting, @AMJ10110. I’m very sorry but we’re not able to recover the old Overleaf connection on our end, if you mean a BibTeX file synced to Overleaf via an Overleaf integration that you set up in Workflows and Integrations.

To help us reproduce what happened, could you describe the exact steps you took? In particular:

  • What did you try to sync to Overleaf: a folder, label, or your entire library?
  • Did you change the BibTeX citation key pattern in your library, then set up a new Overleaf integration, and later delete the old one?

We’d also like to better understand what you’re seeing with citation keys. Changing the BibTeX file linked via Overleaf integration should not affect the citation keys in your LaTeX document. Do you mean that the BibTeX keys inside your BibTeX file itself somehow changed?

Hi suzanne

Thank you for reaching out
It seems that the issue was a delay in updating the bib file in overleaf.
Anyhow, I realised that there is a new feature in paperpile that give us the choice to set our own customised keys which is what I’ve been looking for and honestly suffering from the most in this integration. So I have started updating all my citations as per the new keys and Its much better. The downside though is that I have to go over all my project files to update them one by one

Anyhow, thank you for your prompt response
