Hello,
I love Paperpile. There is one small change that would be very helpful to me. When I am looking at a pdf from my library in my web browser (Google Chrome), the title and name of the paper disappear from the header after 5 seconds. While I understand this is likely intended to make reading easier, for me it primarily prevents me from seeing which paper I was reading when I’m halfway down - so then I have to hover over the tab, or scroll to the top, or go to another tab to see which paper I’m in.
I know it’s a small thing, so hopefully it would be easy to change! I would love the option to have the paper title not disappear after 5 seconds.
Figured it was worth reaching out about!
Thanks,
James Anderson

Here is a screenshot of what I would like to not disappear. Thanks!
Thank you for your feedback on our PDF viewer, @James_Anderson. It’s a small thing but it’s still worth reaching out about! I’ve shared your thoughts with the team and I’ve asked about the default behavior. I’ll let you know when I have an update from them.
I agree completely, one of the many annoying features that Paperpile has not standardized. It’s so frustrating to have a paper up and cite a specific section, only to not have the title and author at hand.
I wonder if any of the Paperpile team are students/scholars/academics? Or is it only a team of software engineers? There should be a test group of students/academics before new features are changed/added/released, even if you think they are small, they have a big influence on workflow!
Thanks for the feedback. This request has come up before and is well on our radar; we expect to prioritize updates for the PDF viewer later this year.
@Kelly_Rafferty the founders of Paperpile met and started off as university students and researchers, and some of our team members have backgrounds/are still active in academia. Regardless, we rely heavily on our existing user base for regular feedback, betas and testing.
