Paperpile not finding newly added references

Grrr, maybe I’m doing something wrong but I am using Paperpile as a reference manager in Word and often (although not always) it wont find new papers that I’ve added to my library. So I have to go to preferences, log out, log back in - at which point Word has to restart - before it will see them. It is extremely annoying. Any advice?

Hi @Nicole_La_Gruta, just signing out and back in to Paperpile via the Word plugin’s settings should be enough to re-trigger sync.

If the issue persists, uninstalling/reinstalling the plugin and restarting the computer could help. Having a VPN or antivirus active has also been known to be a potential source of issue lately.

If it keeps happening, please share the plugin logs with us via chat or email (support@paperpile.com) so the team can have a deeper look. The easiest way to find the log is through the Paperpile tab in your document or the P icon on the computer taskbar > Preferences > Send Log File, then attach the paperpile-logs.txt file to your message.
