I use Paperpile for Chicago author-date refs and have been doing for a few years - recently I’ve noticed that it’s stopped including publisher locations in reference lists. They still appear in the metadata on the paperpile site and my referencing system still requires the locations, but I can’t find a way of resolving this

Welcome to our forum, @Megan_Woodward and thanks for letting us know. We recently updated our CSL citation styles, including the Chicago styles. Whether the publisher location appears in the bibliography depends on the reference type (e.g., a book).
To help me investigate, could you:
- Let me know how you are creating citations. Are you copying citations directly from your library (via the Cite button), or creating citations in Google Docs or Word?
- Share the exact Chicago style you have selected (a screenshot would be helpful).
- Share an example reference where the publisher location does not appear in the bibliography so that I can take a look at the metadata and attempt to reproduce. Select a reference, click Share in the toolbar and send it to support@paperpile.com or send us a message via our in-app messenger.
