Paperpile plug-in not functional in a shared Google Doc

A colleague started a Google Doc. The Paperpile plug-in appears in the Extension menu, but when I click on it, the Quick Start Guide or Manage Citations options open blank windows.

Obviously, I’m logged into the forums because I’m writing this message. I sent a message via Report an Issue but do not expect a reply, because.

How can I get Paperpile to be a functional plug-in in this shared Google Doc?

PS I went through Discobot’s intro course. There is no “…” button. Discobot’s script is broken.

Thanks for the report, @Polonia! Is this still the case with our optional sidebar add-on? As you can see from this quick video, things appear to be working normally on our end so we need a few more details to debug / troubleshoot your case. Please answer the following and share a screenshot or recording if possible.

  • Which browser version are you on?
  • Are you signed in to multiple Google accounts on the browser?
  • Was the document shared with editing rights?
  • Have you tried creating a new document and attempting to use Paperpile there? (if not, please do)
