I use tag function to put papers into certain “arguments” I’d like to make in papers (e.g. papers supporting A equals B). Therefore when using the word plugin to make an argument, I would like to search for papers by tags, and cite them all at once. Tagging itself is a very handy tool, so I hope this functionality gets expanded by the inclusion of the measure above.
It would be very convenient. I searched for this functionality too.
Bringing labels and folders to the citation dialog (in both Word and Google Docs) is definitely planned and something the team has already worked on, although I can’t speak to a timeline just yet. I’ve added both your +1s to the topic on our internal tracker
I just created a Feature Request post for this and then realized it had already been requested, so I deleted my post and am pasting what I wrote here:
Hello, wonderful Paperpile team. I spend a lot of time copying DOIs and pasting them into the Word Plugin to add in-text citations. I was recently adding a label to three references using the great new ability to add labels to papers from the browser extension pop-up window, and it struck me that it would save me so much time if I could search for papers by label or folder in the Word plugin to very quickly find/filter the paper/s I want to cite. I half-expected this to already be a feature, but alas, it isn’t.
If this were a feature, the amount of time I would save is quite literally immeasurable. I would really appreciate it if you would consider implementing this. Thanks!
