Transferring ownership of a folder

Hello,

We need to hand over a Paperpile library to a client. We hope to have them use it in Paperpile and want all the PDFs to stay with the catalog references.

What is the best way to do this?

Thanks in advance!
Deanne

Thanks for your question, @Deanne_DiPietro! How many references and PDFs has the repository that you want to share? Does your client have a Paperpile account? If your client has a Paperpile account, you could choose to create a shared library or a shared folder and share the references and associated PDFs with them.

Shared libraries are useful for establishing a central literature repository for a collaborative project. They are independent from your library and have their own set of folders, shared labels and notes and annotations.

On the other hand, if you already have the references and PDFs in a folder, and you would like to share just that folder, you can convert the folder to a shared folder. Shared folders are useful to share parts of your library with your client. You can control who has access (view or edit) and decide whether to share your notes and annotations. Your labels are not shared.

You can learn more about our sharing features here.

If your client doesn’t have a Paperpile account, you can just select the references in your library, and click the share button in the toolbar to share references and PDFs with a sharing link:
