Unable to view paperpile link from shared google doc

Problem: When clicking a link inserted by a colleague in a shared google doc, the opened paperpile page is blank and gives a console error:

Uncaught Error: Ext.Loader is not enabled, so dependencies cannot be resolved dynamically. Missing required class: Ext.app.Application
pp-webapp.js?v=803:18070

Steps to reproduce:

click “view/edit reference” on shared google doc link

Paperpile chrome extension version: 1.5.953

Thank you!

Thank you for reporting this issue, @lawtj. We tested the behavior on our end and weren’t able to reproduce it. If you’ve already tried refreshing the page and restarting the extension, the next step our team recommends is a hard reload.

To do this:

  1. In the (three dots) in the top-right corner of Chrome, go to More Tools, and select Developer Tools. (Shortcuts: Ctrl + Shift + I (Windows) or Cmd + Option + I (Mac))

  2. Click and hold the reload button in your browser.

  3. Choose Hard Reload from the menu.

Please let me know if this helps or if the issue persists, we’re happy to continue troubleshooting with you.

Thanks - have done a hard reload and the issue persists. Appreciate the response - any suggestions for further debugging steps?

For good measure, I disabled all other chrome extensions (except Google Docs offline, which for some reason could not be disabled) and the issue persists.

I’m not sure if this is helpful, but in the main google doc tab there are a number of PP related console errors:

Access to XMLHttpRequest at 'https://paperpile.com/ajax/app/ping' from origin 'https://docs.google.com' has been blocked by CORS policy: No 'Access-Control-Allow-Origin' header is present on the requested resource.

Access to XMLHttpRequest at 'https://paperpile.com/ajax/crud/query?query=%7B%22action%22%3A%22get_license%22%7D' from origin 'https://docs.google.com' has been blocked by CORS policy: No 'Access-Control-Allow-Origin' header is present on the requested resource.

These don’t seem relevant to my issue though.

Appreciate your help.
