When merging duplicates keep keys

It would be really nice that when an entry gets updated or duplicates merged,
if the old key would remain valid. I often find myself chasing down changed keys in latex.

IIUC the new version of paperpile supports biblatex, and biblatex >v2 supports the IDS field:

@BOOK{key,
  IDS = {key2, key3, ..., keyn},
  .
  .
}
