Does not work in Edge either. The sidebar works but is not as convenient.
I’ve also tried the suggestions from Vicente to Paul earlier in the thread. No change.

Thank you for the update, @Christiana_Scheib. The team has been able to reproduce the issue and they are working on a fix. In the meantime, here is another workaround to try if you would prefer not to use the sidebar add-on: highlight the citation you wish to edit and in the top right, click the P button:
This should open the Insert citation dialog so that you can edit the citation.
Hello,
I just wanted to add to the conversation that my Google Docs Paperpile account is also not working correctly. When I update the citation style, it shows the message “Citation style set to APA 7th edition,” but the in-text citations are not updated throughout the document.
This is particularly frustrating due to the constant need to adjust citations for different manuscripts. I’ve tried all the recommended tips outlined above, but unfortunately, the issue still persists.
Ah, thank you! That does work as a temp fix.
Thanks, this is a temporary fix. Starting today I had the same issue, I tried all the possible fixes described in this thread, still the same problem. Please fix it soon.
Thank you for confirming the workaround is a temporary fix, @Christiana_Scheib and @Alessandro_Serretti. We’ll update this thread when we’ve news to share. And thanks for adding to this thread, @Anna1. This sounds like it could be a different issue, so to help us investigate it, I’ve followed up over email with some requests for more information.
We’ve updated the Paperpile extension to address the issue with editing citations (v1.5.892) @Christiana_Scheib and @Alessandro_Serretti. If you run into any problems, please let us know!
Great speed! I updated to 1.5.892 and it works! Thanks!
Fantastic thanks! Works now after updating.
I just wanted to report that editing citations through the pop-up bubble is a still pretty much a dice-roll for me (chrome, windows, paperpile 1.5.953). sometimes the bubble with citations pops up on first click, sometimes it takes a few clicks (empty bubble), sometimes it doesn’t work at all and I have to either refresh my page, or restart the browser to get the citations to show.
just wondering if anyone else has these issues?.
I just figured out that I have to press the “pen button” for at least a second to make the references appear reliably
