Support for PDF annotations

@stefan Can you please add me to the beta? Thank you!!

I’ve added you.

@stefan Please may I be added to this beta?

Stefan,

Please add me to the beta testing list!

Thanks!

This was the first thing I searched after I tarted testing out Paperpile. I have been thoroughly impressed with this app for citations so far, but still use other programs to view pdf’s. Can’t wait for the public release of the annotation feature. It will surely help the disarray that is my early PhD career :smiley:

@zachrodriguez @Alexander_Gordon @Daniel_Mullins
I have added you.

Please add me to the beta test for PDF annotations too. Thanks! -Z

I’d love to try the pdf annotations beta as well!

Please add me as well if you are still taking beta testers, thanks.

@zmunson @N_Schmuck @Randall_Carroll

I’ve added you all. The thread with instructions should be in your list now.

Please if you have a chance to try it provide some feedback in the forum with your first impressions.

Thank you – I’ll give feedback after exploring

hi, please add me as a tester

I would like to be added as a beta tester, if possible.

Thank you.

I’ve added you.

Hi, please add me as well…

Hi, would it be possible to add me as tester for the PDF annotation beta as well?
Thank you.

I’ve added you. Looking forward to your feedback.

I’d like to be added.

Adobe just released the Acrobat Document Cloud. It would be fantastic to open the PDFs on Adobe acrobat DC even that Acrobat DC needs subscription yet the great annotation/comments options on A-DC would worth the costs.

I am not sure if this feature is easy to implement from programming perspective. So ignore my comment if this is a far fetched idea.

Actually there are tons of PDF great annotators for the Desktop, most notably Preview on the Mac. Acrobat Document cloud seems to be basically a re-skinned version of good old Acrobat. It’s the reference implementation of a PDF viewer/editor. You can open the PDFs in Paperpile with any PDF annotator when you sync the file to your Desktop through the Google Drive client.

Unfortunately it’s not possible to open it directly from Paperpile in a desktop application. That’s technically not possible for security reasons (that’s a good thing that a webapp can’t open a desktop app…).

btw. our new PDF viewer http://www.metpadf.com will be fully Acrobat compatible with the same limitations that you can’t directly open the PDF externally.
