“Author’s name as part of narrative” in-text citation

It seems that someone has requested the feature in another post but was unnoticed. So, I just copy and paste his post here. After all, I really think the “suppress author option” is quite meaningless.

in addition to the suppress author option (resulting in the text “(1973)”), include an option that results in the text “Granovetter (1973)”. The current option (suppress author) causes a bit of extra typing (author name) that is really unnecessary (since PP already knows the author name). It would be delightful to have that option, and should not be too hard to implement! You could call it - Author’s name as part of narrative:

Add author name in front of parentheses when suppressing author - \citet in latex

Not sure whether I missed that feature or a corresponding feature request. I often refer to persons when citing them e.g. Müller (2003) instead of (Müller 2003). I know the “suppress author” button. However, there should also be a button to add the author in front of the parentheses automatically, e.g. Müller (2003). I have used such a feature in “Docear for Word” some months ago and it was very convenient. Thank you, Paul

It’s also frustrating because when I click “Update citations and bibliography” using the extension, it reverts all citations to the (Author, year) version and I need to go back and change all the narrative citations.
